Laxmi Narayan Tripathi was sexually abused from the age of seven to fourteen by men. This, he says, shaped and defined his being and sexuality. He considers herself a hijra (an eunuch) and says "I have the soul of a hijara".

In an yet another case of mindless use of the word “Talaq” (divorce), Biki Biwi, a 47-year-old woman is Salipur, Orissa was divorced by her husbands just because she voted against his candidate in a village election.

In a voting held to award a village road construction contract, Biki Biwi voted in favour of her brother while her husband wanted her to vote for his friend. “Over such a trivial matter I was divorced by my husband. How will I survive now”, cried Biki.

Soon after the divorce, a clash broke out between the respective families. But since the word talaq had already been uttered thrice, the community leaders have accepted the divorce and police intervention has not solved the problem.

In the movie "Atbhutha Dweep", the hero falls in love with a tall princess and marries her. In real life Ajay Kumar is married to a woman of normal height, and they look forward to a normal and enjoyable married life.

Ajay Kumar formed an association in Kerala called “The Kerala Small Men Association”, which works for the welfare of dwarfs in the state of Kerala. Kerala, a state located in southern region of India, ranks in the top percentage of the well educated in India. The association of dwarfs has about 300 members. Ajay Kumar doesn't claim to be an actor of heroic proportions. "I think the image of a hero has changed. I am not glamorous like other superstars, but viewers like the talented character of the artist they see in me.”
